About me
I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, but I have lived most of my adult life in England.
From Business to Pottery
After graduating with an MBA, I worked for nearly 20 years in the financial services sector of the City of London. In 2002, I decided to change career and I reverted to my earlier passion of ceramics.
I gained practical experience via evening classes and residential courses and had a modern studio built in my garden. In 2007, I embarked on a distance learner degree course at Glasgow School of Art from where I graduated in 2012 with a BA Design (Ceramics) degree.
Functionality and Decoration
I throw most of my vessels on the wheel and sometimes alter the forms. I use both stoneware and porcelain and my finished pieces are both functional and decorative sculptural objects.
Inspired by Nature
Rural North Hertfordshire where I live, offers magical views with sunsets over woodland and fields and changing light through trees and branches. This environment just outside my studio inspires me to introduce colours and texture to my work.
